The EFX5.1 satellite and centre channel speakers incorporate Tannoy WideBand™ technology. Extending high frequency response, in this case up to 78kHz, is not about increasing the amount of high frequencies you hear. The purpose is to effect a reduction of phase error, not only at the top end of the frequency range, but also well within the range of human hearing for harmonic recognition.
What does this deliver?
Starting even as low as 5kHz, the effect of phase error reduction improves sonic detail, imaging precision and overall system integration. In 5.1 audio applications WideBand™ improves the total acoustic performance of the system by delivering superior mid-band resolution and remarkable low frequency control, conveying music
information with speed, impact and clarity.
These essential acoustic characteristics are further enhanced during movie soundtrack reproduction through the provision of an involving and believable soundstage. The natural voicing of the EFX system’s five satellites combine seamlessly with the powerful 100W active subwoofer. Aural effects and action sequences are delivered with impact and speech localisation ‘pans’ flawlessly left to right and front to rear.
Additional satellite or centre channel speakers are available to expand the EFX Home Theatre system to 6.1 or even more complex system configurations.
